Welcome to the El Paso Sports Commission’s new website!
We hope that you will enjoy seeing all that makes El Paso a world-class, year-round sports tourism destination.

The El Paso County Coliseum is the premier Hispanic entertainment venue in the Southwest. Luis Miguel, Mana, Alejandro Fernandez and Chayanne have all wowed El Paso audiences recently at the Coliseum, and the WWE chose the Coliseum as the venue for the May 2004 homecoming of superstars Eddie and Chavo Guerrero. Originally built in the 1940s, the Coliseum completed a major renovation in 2004. $9.5 million brought the El Paso community a state of the art heating and air conditioning system, new seating, expanded hallways, concession stands and restrooms. Promoters and entertainers enjoy comfortable dressing rooms, new staging, and the easiest load-in capabilities in the area. The Coliseum property includes an 850-space parking lot, the El Paso Events Center and an open-air El Paso Coliseum Pavilion. The Coliseum is managed by the El Paso Sports Commission.

El Paso, Texas is a proud sports community. With over 310 sunny days each year, locals enjoy a variety of outdoor pursuits including hiking, running, cycling, soccer and football. El Paso is an outstanding golf community with a number of public and private golf courses offering year-round golfing opportunities.

The University of Texas at El Paso has a long sporting tradition dating back to when the school was called the Texas College of Mines and later Texas Western College. the night Texas Western won the
title over the University of Kentucky, which was unprecedented for the sport at the time.
